Meet your Therapist

Suraj Shah, CMT

Suraj’s journey as a massage therapist started a bit unconventionally.

Growing up, each member of his family experienced unique physical limitations. His brother has cerebral palsy, father had a brain tumor, and mother had a stroke. While their recovery processes differed, each of them took their own path in adapting to their life. Despite the health challenges each of them faced, Suraj considered all aspects of his family’s rehabilitation an integral part of their recovery. One of those treatments was massage therapy.

So while pursuing a degree in Economics from San Jose State University, he co-enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at the Institute for Business and Technology. His training incorporated multiple modalities with an emphasis in medical/clinical massage therapy. These techniques were designed to alleviate pain and tension of specific musculoskeletal conditions.

After working in a health clinic for several years, Suraj ventured off to start his own practice. His goal became to help those who help others; from healthcare professionals, first responders, care providers, parents, and more with their chronic pain.

Now, Suraj integrates aspects of rehabilitation he witnessed growing up into clinical massage. Every treatment is individualized to the dynamic needs of each client. Behind each session is an intention to aid others in their healing.

He’s currently studying to become a nurse.
